I credit my husband Joe and my love of travel with starting my career as a novelist; it was his comments on a letter describing a trip to New Orleans that prompted me to try writing fiction and short stories.
I wrote my first novel Desire’s Child by hand on 12 yellow legal pads. It was published by Harlequin Books in September, 1984. My second book, A Cherished Account, published by New American Library, came out just one month later in October of the same year. Since then, I’ve had 26 romance novels published with three different publishers. Because romance is truly universal, most of those books have been published in at least 20 languages, including Chinese, Japanese, Greek, and most recently, Russian.
Two of my books, Passion and Scandal (1995), and Good Time Girl (2002), were nominated for the prestigious RITA for Best Short Contemporary Romance, an award given each year for outstanding romance fiction by the Romance Writers of America. Good Time Girl also received the 2003 Scarlett Letter Award, presented by the Tampa Bay Romance Writers.
In 2010, I had a short story published in the anthology collection Chicken Soup for the Soul: Grieving and Recovery.
I am currently in the process of digitizing my backlist for e-book publication.

The Cowboy Way
(Harlequin Blaze #177), April 2005
Clay Madison is the quintessential rodeo cowboy, a rugged untamed outlaw with a roguish gleam in his soulful brown eyes and a smile as sly and knowing as sin. In his fringed chaps and tight-fitting jeans, with his spurs jingling and his hat pulled low over his brow, he's a sight to make any woman swoon. And he knows it. He's used to living fast and hard, traveling from one rodeo to the next, always on the move, always on the lookout for the next ride, the next good time, or the next willing woman.
Hard-headed, no-nonsense rancher Jo Beth Jensen is more than willing-up to a point. The quintessential girl-next-door, Texas style, she knows from experience that rodeo cowboys aren't the kind of men a woman can depend on to stick around for the long haul. And that's okay with her. She isn't looking for a long-term commitment anymore than Clay is. The only thing on her mind is a hot time in the hayloft with a cowboy who's too sexy for his jeans.
"The Cowboy Way delights with humor, great dialogue and unusual, appealing main characters."
Romantic Times Magazine
"This story is delightful, the banter is first-rate, and the potency is electrifying. Good golly, Schuler writes some juicy scenes. Hey, doesn't this author know paper burns? Yeah, Schuler's THE COWBOY WAY is one entertaining, humorous, and hot read!

Good Time Girl
Sometimes being bad is really, really good...
(Harlequin Blaze #27), February 2002
After getting a makeover from prim to improper, Roxanne Archer -- now just Roxy -- sets out to have a good time being bad. And she has her heart set on a good-looking, dangerous cowboy to do it with. Her first stop is a west Texas honky-tonk where Tom Steele, with all his dangerous laid-back rodeo cowboy charm, strikes her fancy and sets her heart -- and other parts -- on fire. Bronc-rider Tom Steele can't believe his luck! This sexy, sassy woman has practically dragged him off to her motel room for a night of wild, raucous, mind-blowing sex, with no strings attached. But what was supposed to be a one-nigh stand is so good, one night of being bad just isn't enough... for either of them.
"Wow, GOOD TIME GIRL is one hot and steamy romance... a sizzler... a fun, sexy book."
Sensual Romance Reviews
"GOOD TIME GIRL is a very sexy story, but as well it's a romantic story, with a happy ending you can cheer for."

Unihibited
(Harlequin Blaze #7), September 2001
Reed Sullivan is a Boston blueblood--well-bred, sophisticated, urbane and oh-so-proper. He prides himself on always being in control of every situation and never losing his cool. Zoe Moon is an uninhibited Boston bohemian with no breeding to speak of, no claims to sophistication and scant regard for what is and isn't considered proper. The moment they meet, both Reed's control and his regard for propriety begin to slip...
"Uninhibited by Candace Schuler is one hot, sexy, sensual read. If you love a strong hero and an equally strong heroine, intense passion, wonderfully written humor and witty banter you won't want to miss it. Just make sure you bring something very cool to drink while you read it!"

Out of Control
(Harlequin Temptation Blaze series #648), August, 1997 (re-released Harlequin Intimacies), November 2000
It had taken Andrea Wagner eight long years to get control of her life after her husband walked out on her and their three children. But things are finally going her way. Her kids are healthy, happy and well-cared for. Her business is finally operating in the black. If her love life is non-existent, well, that's the price she's paid for doing things her way. She's in control--on and off the job--and she likes it that way. And then Jim Nicolosi joins her construction team. Jim's got the slow, careful hands of a fine carpenter, the body of a Greek god and a brand of sweet loving that has Andie spinning wildly out of control.
"This spicy sizzler is just the ticket for the fan in search of a hot, steamy romp!"
